“This book is designed to motivate anyone who has ever found themselves in a precarious place and have been faced with the unthinkable. It is for those of you who have made “stupid” choices and need to forgive yourself and others. It is for anyone struggling with accepting themselves in the aftermath. I am writing it to demonstrate how the worst of unthinkable situations can create the best opportunities if you look for them. In this book, I strive to uplift the human spirit but with a huge caveat. I hope to do so without engaging in spiritual malpractice. It is often an outcome of many books that invite people to shift from victims to victors via an intense focus on inner peace. I do not intend to overly focus on this path toward an internally peaceful state. While I do believe inner peace is important and vital, I also believe that truly peaceful people are the ones who are actually capable of inflicting great harm to other people and possibly capable of immense despair. I imagine that if you are not capable of causing great harm to yourself or others then you are actually just harmless, not necessarily peaceful. The peaceful person is the one who chooses peace instead of resorting to harm, great violence or incredible despair when his or her back is against the wall.”
